St. Mary’s College, Manarcaud, founded on the beautiful hill-top ‘Mary Giri’  fullfills a long cherished dream of thousands of people of this region.  The college was established on I st October 1981.  The foundation stone of the main building of the college was laid by  the Prince  Patriarch of Antioch and All the East , His Holiness Ignatios Zakka I was on 26th February 1982.  The college is owned and governed by St. Mary’s Cathedral, Manarcaud. 

              Saint Mary’s birthday is celebrated from 1st  to  8th September.  On 7th Sept, the portrait of Christ and Virgin Mary is unveiled.  The unseen presence and blessings of Virigin Mary, the 8 days’ lent and other observances have withstood the passage of time. In 2004, when the Patriarch visited the church, St. Mary’s Church was declared ‘Global Marian Pilgrimage Centre’, since then the church rose to the status of a Cathedral.
